Fancy Nancy and Other Favorites

This is my first attempt at a link up, which is all about children's book reviews at ylcf (young ladies christian fellowship) for their March of Books.

Someday I hope to read Fancy Nancy books to my girls. My little sisters love them (and I do too) because the stories are cute, the illustrations are adorable, and the "fancy" words that Nancy uses helps improve their vocabulary.

I really enjoyed the Amelia Bedelia books when I was younger, I was always amazed at how she could get everything wrong! But her ability to whip up amazing things in the kitchen would redeem her.

When I have kids I plan to read Debi Pearl's Yell and Tell books (Samuel Learns to Yell and Tell and Sara Sue Learns to Yell and Tell) to them because I want them to be prepared and warned about sexual predators. These books might not be the most enjoyable to read to your kids due to the subject matter, but Debi does a wonderful job of making it kid friendly!

If You Give A Mouse a Cookie and similar titles by Laura Numeroff (If You Give a Moose a Muffin, If  You Give a Pig a Pancake, etc.) are such fun books. The illustrations are adorable and the whimsical story lines make me smile every time.

I've loved reading for as long as I can remember. Books open the door to worlds you could never experience otherwise, reveal vast treasuries of information just waiting to be discovered, and teach you to use your imagination! I'm so excited to read to my own kids someday and (hopefully!) pass on my love of reading and learning to them.

What are your favorite children's books??
